Venice: A quiet courtyard, perhaps the only area in in the city sans tourists. Venice: Pidgeon fresco at San Marco's Square. Venice: Requisite dorky tourist photo; I'm displaying the oddly delicious salted crepe with raddichio, mozzarella, paprika, and walnuts. Nice: You could probably walk from one to the next. If you had really long legs. Nice: Rooster and bowling shoes are extremely haute couture in Europe these days. Valencia: This gargoyle was probably the coolest thing in Valencia. Our 'meatless' fish and potato soup definitely wasn't.
Barcelona: Charlie Chaplin street performer on Las Ramblas, the main drag through the city. Barcelona: 'Playful lines / Poetry' sign for an art exhibit. I want to be that sign designer. Barcelona: Surprisingly sophisticated alley graffiti. Barcelona: Andrea and a security guard snickered at me for taking a photo of a door. But damn, isn't this 'no entry' sign elegant? This would make sense to you if you were European, where the horizontal line 'do not enter' symbol prevails. Madrid: Stick figures get down and boogie on the Madrid subway. Madrid (I think): This sign might be more appropriate in Oregon than Spain.
San Sebastian: Vegetarian Andrea goes to the dark side. After an exhaustive discussion in Spanish with the waitress as to the contents of the ensalada fresca (to ensure that it didn't have meat in it), we were given a salad with meat florets on the periphery. Dublin: A hardware store, perhaps? Dublin: Stained glass awning. Jess, this one's for you. Dublin: Three of a dozen canvas bag people sitting in the courtyard of the Dublin Museum of Fine Art. Dublin: Of course. Galway: The morning delivery of the kegs to one pub in Galway. There were that many kegs on the other side of the street, too. For the one pub.
Galway: Irish fields are a shade of green you can't capture with a camera. London: Pidgeon enjoying a snack. London: Eels at the London Aquarium. The one on the right is hot for you. London: Bathroom for monopedal women only. London: Lights in the theatre district.
