Redesign of TILT:
The Information Literacy Tutorial

TILT (The Information Literacy Tutorial) is a well-known open-source information literacy tutorial developed by the University of Texas Libraries. All images and text in the screenshots below were created by the UT, unless noted.

With irreverent wit, jargon-free explanations, and quick quizzes, TILT is popular with students. However, the tutorial requires that students register before use, and each page is contained in a frameset, preventing teachers from linking directly to indiviual topics. Lessons are locked within lengthy modules that must be completed in order.

In this redesign of TILT, registration and frames are removed, page layout was simplified, and blocks of text were shortened.
