At least the internet still likes me

Feeling a little crummy about a harsh music review that I posted in a friend's blog earlier today. I should know better than to review live musicians while doing my machine learning homework. Makes a girl cranky. But it's reassuring to know that I'm the second search result for "nice people in pittsburgh."

I have a feeling that this post Heisenbergianly pushed her up to number one by mentioning the phrase again. Quite amusing, that.

Well, the ease with which I moved up Google's ranking of nice people in Pittsburgh has no actual relation to the population here.

It's a bit like the time I had "Joey Harrington" (the quarterback of my undergrad football team, and all-around nice guy) and "girlfriend" in adjacent blog posts, and Google did a little matchmaking. When I denied that I was his girlfriend, it only bolstered Google's suspicions. And here I've done it again. Oh, well.

Oops, I guess it may have been my (not intended as serious) teasing remark that made you feel crummy—I'm sorry about that. I agree with Google that you're a nice person in Pittsburgh. =)

Ah, thanks. Guess that whole thing about people not recognizing subtlety (like teasing) online is true.
